Our 50th Season and Our Two Hundred and Forty First Production!
Buck Creek Players, Director Ben Jones, and Music Director Jill Stewart are thrilled to announce their upcoming production of Into The Woods with Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and Book by James Lapine. Follow the Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. Buck Creek Players is pleased to conclude our 50th season with this live event on our mainstage. Join us for the eight live in-person performances at the playhouse starting Friday, June 14th and running through Sunday, June 23rd. |

CAST BIOGRAPHIES
ELLEN VANDER MISSEN (she/her)(Cinderella) is delighted to be making her BCP debut! Ellen has appeared in a variety of local musical productions, playing roles such as Sally in YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, Portia in SOMETHING ROTTEN!, Sibella in A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE… (all at Footlite Musicals), and Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC (The Belfry Theatre). She is a huge fan of Sondheim and has been privileged to perform in two other productions of INTO THE WOODS over the years, as well as the Encore-winning 2022 production of SWEENEY TODD at Footlite Musicals. Ellen would like to extend many thanks to the production team for letting her live out her princess dreams alongside this stellar cast. Thanks also to Josh and the fam for the endless love and support. Enjoy the show, and may all your wishes come true!

MASON MAST (Baker) is thrilled to be making his debut with Buck Creek Players in Into the Woods. The Ball State University graduate, originally from Elkhart, has enjoyed previous roles including Ren McCormack in FOOTLOOSE, Flotsam in THE LITTLE MERMAID, and Albert in NEWSIES. He enjoys working as an Audio/Visual Event Technician Supervisor with Markey's at the JW Marriott and Marriott Indianapolis Downtown locations. Mason would like to thank his partner Dalton, his family, and his friends for supporting him. He would also like to thank Jenna (Florinda) and Liam (Cinderella’s Prince) for auditioning with him, and for the many carpools to and from rehearsals.

MIRANDA NEHRIG, she/her (Baker's Wife) feels incredibly lucky to have a moment in the woods with all these talented and kind people, including her mom and step-dad. Miranda has been in shows around town including LITTLE WOMEN (Jo March), THE WILD PARTY (Madelaine True), ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNION APPROACHES and ANGELS IN AMERICA: PERESTROIKA (Harper Pitt). When not on stage, Miranda can be found curled up with a book and her dogs or roaming about Eagle Creek Park. Miranda would like to thank Ben and Jill for entrusting her with this role, her family and friends for sharing her time with this show, but especially Ryan and Leona-- the two people who make going into and out of the woods worth every second. “If you are a dreamer, come in. If you are a dreamer a wisher a liar, a hoper a pray-er a magic-bean-buyer; if you're a pretender come sit by my fire; for we have some flax golden tales to spin. Come in! Come in!”

THOM TURNER (Narrator/Mysterious Man) is thrilled to be book-ending BCP's season with this appearance. Last seen as Brother Boy in SORDID LIVES earlier this year, Thom continues his return to the community theater stage with this fantastical romp through this story's pages. Some of his favorite past shows are SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES, A NIGHT IN VEGAS, NUNSENSE: AMEN, THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL, and KILLING KITTENS. First, he would like to thank his husband, John, for his loving support. Next, he would like to dedicate this performance to his mother, Diane - as she was the one who recited his first fairy tale and started this theater dream. Love you, mom. And lastly, to you dear audience: please relax, open up your storybook, and let's all go...INTO THE WOODS.

CORDALE HANKINS (Jack) is excited to make his Buck Creek Players debut in INTO THE WOODS! He is currently a senior studying music education at the University of Indianapolis, with plans to teach high school choir post graduation. Some of Cordale’s previous shows include HELLO DOLLY (Barnaby), A CHORUS LINE (Don), and NEWSIES (Davey). When he’s not on stage, Cordale enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, going on bike rides, and hiking. He would like to thank his family and friends for all of their love and support.

GEORGEANNA TEIPEN (Jack’s Mother) is so excited to be back on the Buck Creek stage in Into the Woods after last being seen here in The Great American Trailer Park Musical last season. She is particularly thrilled to be in this production as she gets to share the stage with wonderful friends and her husband, Jeremy, and their daughter, Miranda. Georgie, as her friends call her, has been seen in many local performances and feels very blessed to be able to continue participating in her favorite extracurricular activity. In her professional life, Georgie serves the citizens of the State of Indiana as a Deputy Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of The Office of the Indiana Attorney General. This one is for Jeremy, Miranda, Schuyler, Ryan, Ayesha, and Leona----I love all of you with all my heart. Our family is everything to me, and with each other, none of us is ever alone!!!! xoxoxoxoxo!

SHELIA RAGHAVENDRAN (she/her) (Little Red Riding Hood) is having a great time in her first show with Buck Creek Players. Most recently, she was seen as Lucy Van Pelt in YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN with Footlite Musicals. A huge thank you to the Into the Woods cast, crew, and staff for making this show so magical, and to Mom, Dad, and Brandon for making real life magical, too.

CLAIRE SLAVEN (Stepmother) is very excited to be a part of another Buck Creek Players production. Previous shows include THE WILD PARTY at Footlight Musicals, SOMETHING ROTTEN at Footlight Musicals, Bad Ass Betty in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL at Buck Creek players and she most recently played her dream role, Mrs. Lovett, in Westfield Playhouse’s production of SWEENEY TODD. Claire is very thankful for the talents of director Ben Jones and is so excited to be a part of her first show alongside her son Dominic. As always no single show could be possible without the support and love of her husband Rob Slaven. “Everybody needs a passion. That’s what keeps life interesting. JENNA MACNULTY (Florinda) is so excited to be making her debut at Buck Creek this summer! Although she hasn’t taken the stage herself since playing Bridget in BRING IT ON and Flounder in THE LITTLE MERMAID during her high school years, she’s recently found even more joy on the other side of the stage. During her college career at Ball State, she started directing and choreographing various children’s shows for The Point Theater including WILLY WONKA, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, FROZEN JR., and NEWSIES. This coming school year, Jenna will be teaching 5th grade math at Zionsville West Middle School. She is so thankful for her family, friends (especially Liam and Mason), and her cast mates for this amazing experience and the love and support they all provide. Enjoy the show!

EMILY GADDY (Witch) is thrilled to portray one of her dream roles alongside this stellar cast, crew, and staff! She was previously seen on the BCP stage in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, for which she received the Encore for Best Leading Actress in a Musical and Best Female Vocalist. Other performing credits include DISASTER! THE MUSICAL, FUN HOME, 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, DOGFIGHT, DOUBT, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD, HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME, and ROMEO & JULIET. In addition to her onstage credits, Emily has also served as Vocal Director for several productions including THE WILD PARTY (Encore winner for Best Vocal Direction of a Musical), LITTLE WOMEN and THE BODYGUARD. When she is not at the theater, Emily can be found planning her next Disney trip, expanding her Disney coffee mug collection, or polishing up her piano skills. She hopes you all enjoy the show and sends all her love to her husband and 2 fur babies.

ADDISON KOEHLER (Rapunzel) is thrilled to be back on the Buck Creek Players stage, once again! Previous credits include Shotzi in STARMITES (Catalyst Repertory); Magenta in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW (Zach & Zack); and Rose Fenney in DOGFIGHT (BCP), where her performance received multiple nominations at the 2018 Encore Awards. Previously a performer and member at Catered Cabaret, Addi worked as part of the creative team and starred in many shows, including Them Girls, Encore!, Best of Broadway I & II, Sizzle, and countless others. Addi would like to thank her friends and family for their unwavering support.

JOSH ROOKS (Wolf/Steward) is over the moon to be a part of INTO THE WOODS and share the stage with this star-studded cast! Most recently, Josh starred as Shep Henderson in Buck Creek Players’ most recent production, BELL, BOOK, AND CANDLE. Ranging from compelling dramas to side-splitting comedies, Josh has brought a variety of characters to life in over 20+ productions in the Indianapolis area. Some of his favorite past roles include Duke in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL, Alan in ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, G.W. Nethercott in SORDID LIVES, and Jeff in THE CURIOUS SAVAGE. When Josh isn’t on stage, he enjoys collecting vinyls, going to concerts, and playing his guitars. Josh would like to thank director Ben Jones and vocal director Jill Stewart for the opportunity along with his family and friends for their constant support. “An actor must never be afraid to make a fool of themselves.”

JEREMY TEIPEN (Cinderella's Father) is excited to return to the Buck Creek Players’ stage! His most recent roles here include Sidney Redlitch in BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE; and Norbert Garstecki in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL. In his spare time, he enjoys tabletop gaming, reading, and spending time with his objectively crazy number of rescue fur-kids. He sends all his love to his wonderful wife, Georgie, with whom he shares two wonderful children, Miranda and Schuyler – he is eternally grateful for their endless love and support. Jeremy would also like to thank Ben and Francie for allowing him to be a part of this amazingly talented cast and is particularly grateful for this treasured opportunity to share the stage with his phenomenally-talented wife and daughter. LIAM BOYLE (Cinderella’s Prince) is thrilled to be returning to the stage and making his debut with the Buck Creek Players. Previous roles include Joseph in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT and Rod in AVENUE Q. Liam currently teaches choir and music history and Herron Riverside High School, and spends his summers arranging and music directing. Liam is grateful for the support of his talented cast mates, the friendship of his roommate Mason, and to Jenna- for love greater than any fairytale. Enjoy the show!

ZACH BUCHER (Rapunzel's Prince) is excited to make his Buck Creek debut in this classic musical. A Bluffton Indiana native, Zach joined the Indianapolis community theater scene in 2023 with roles in Hello Dolly! and A Footlite Family Holiday (Footlite Musicals). Zach is a graduate of Purdue University where he performed with the Purdue Varsity Glee Club. He is an accountant for Elanco in Greenfield & enjoys doing karaoke & seeing other local theater in his free time. Zach would like to thank his parents, family, & friends for their continued love & support, the staff of Into the Woods for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible cast!

AMELIA TRYON (Cinderella's Mother/Little Red's Granny) is thrilled to be back on stage for her third production at Buck Creek Players, having previously been seen as Jeannie in THE GREAT AMERICAN TRAILER PARK MUSICAL and as Bridget in LIZZIE BORDEN OF FALL RIVER. She has performed in shows at Edyvean Theatre at CTS, Footlite Musicals, and Webster Groves Theatre Guild in St. Louis, MO. Favorite past roles include Luisa in THE FANTASTICKS, Tzeitel in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and Glinda in THE WIZARD OF OZ. She has made a career of developing young people as servant leaders in their communities. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, thrifting, swimming with her 9-year-old son, Julian, and binge-watching British crime dramas. “This one is for you, Mom, for supporting me in ALL things!”

ANNA SPACK (Gant/Snow White/Birds) Anna is thrilled to be back on the Buck Creek stage after performing in BCP's most recent production of BELL, BOOK & CANDLE. She has been involved in numerous Kokomo theatre organizations and enjoyed getting her feet wet here in Indy as Miss Brahms with BCP's production of ARE YOU BEING SERVED? Her favorite roles include Catherine/Helene Shaw/Paula in WHO AM I THIS TIME AND OTHER CONUNDRUMS OF LOVE, Maggie in CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, Tuptim in THE KING AND I, and Vivienne in LEGALLY BLONDE and Co-directing WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. In her free time, Anna enjoys game and movie nights with friends and family, karaoke nights, visiting local breweries and wineries. Thank you to my family and friends for all of your support and patience with the busyness and breakdowns during shows and to Justin, the best line memorization buddy a girl could ask for.

STEPHEN SONDHEIM wrote the music and lyrics for Saturday Night (1954), A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM (1962), ANYONE CAN WHISTLE (1964), COMPANY (1970), FOLLIES (1971), A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (1973), THE FROGS (1974), PACIFIC OVERTURES (1976), SWEENEY TODD (1979), MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG (1981), SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (1984), INTO THE WOODS (1987), ASSASSINS (1991), PASSION (1994) and ROAD SHOW (2008) as well as lyrics for WEST SIDE STORY (1957), GYPSY (1959) and DO I HEAR A WALTZ? (1965) and additional lyrics for CANDIDE (1973). Anthologies of his work include SIDE BY SIDE BY SONDHEIM (1976), MARRY ME A LITTLE (1981), YOU'RE GONNA LOVE TOMORROW (1983), PUTTING IT TOGETHER (1993/99) and SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM (2010). JAMES LAPINE is a playwright and director. On Broadway he has worked with Stephen Sondheim on SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE; INTO THE WOODS; and PASSION. He also conceived and directed the musical review SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM. With William Finn he created FALSETTOS recently revived by Lincoln Center Theater; LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE; MUSCLE; and directed Finn's THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE. Other Broadway credits include his play based on Moss Hart's memoir Act One (also LCT), AMOUR, THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK, GOLDEN CHILD, and DIRTY BLONDE. He has written the plays TABLE SETTINGS, TWELVE DREAMS, THE MOMENT WHEN, FRAN'S BED and MRS. MILLER DOES HER THING. Lapine has been nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning on three occasions. He has also been the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, SDC's Mr. Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theater, and inducted into the Theater Hall of Fame.
