Buck Creek Players is seeking directors who are passionate about theater and have a fall production
they'd like to see outdoors at the Buck Creek Playhouse!

Our call for fall outdoor submissions is now available, with submissions due by Saint Patrick's Day on Thursday, March 17, 2022!
Buck Creek Players is looking to produce a family friendly fall outdoor production in late September/Early October that ties in with the fall season. Last season's production of LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW was very successful and we are looking to expand this opportunity this year. Directors are encouraged to tie the show to the Halloween season and consider submissions that are easily able to be produced outdoors that are family friendly and have an approximate run time of 45 minutes to 1 hour. Productions that can be easily moved indoors to our mainstage in case of inclement weather are also encouraged. Please review the submission information below and we look forward to your ideas and submissions!
As a Director, how do I submit?
Please provide the following information in your submission (at a minimum):
(A) Program Selection Submission Form in either .pdf or Excel format. On the form, please include information on:
(B) Please submit a copy of each script (play and/or musical). Due to the nature of outdoor productions, submission of plays is highly encouraged, however, musicals will also be considered. For musical submissions, please be sure to also submit a copy of a cast recording (CD or .mp3 audio files) or a link to the music in addition to the script. Since the music is such an integral part of a musical, no musical submissions can be considered without a recording accompanying it.
(C) Your theatrical resume outlining past directing experience and theatrical background.

We are an all-volunteer community theater and unfortunately do not have staff available during the day to sign for UPS or Fed Ex deliveries. You may also save postage by dropping off submissions directly to the playhouse or by e-mailing your submission(s).

- Type of production;
- Idea or vision of the production - this can include information on how the production works outdoors, and/or what would be necessary to move indoors if inclement weather prevented an outdoor production;
- Thoughts on how to include the principles of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access (IDEA) with the production; and
- Preliminary production staff that are lined up or likely to work on the production.

- Only submissions for the Fall 2022 outdoor production are being requested at this time.
- A director may propose any play or musical they would like to direct; however, please keep in mind the nature of outdoor productions, as well as the marketability of your submission.
- All submissions must be received or postmarked no later than Thursday, March 17, 2022. Submissions may be mailed via U.S. Mail, dropped off, or e-mailed.
