Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for SORDID LIVES by Del Shores, on Monday and Tuesday, April 3 & 4, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue.
Director Ben Jones is looking for a diverse and comedic group of 7 female presenting actors and 5 male presenting actors. All roles are available.

SORDID LIVES is scheduled for six performances for three weekends, August 4, 2023 – August 13, 2023.
Please bring a list of all conflicts from June 1, 2023, through August 13, 2023.
Rehearsals are tentatively set to begin in early June 2023.

Bitsy Mae
Age 20's - 40's
Edgy, spunky musician at the local bar. Needs to play guitar and sing.
Ty
Age 25 - 28
Son of Latrelle. In therapy. Likeable and handsome. Somewhat a boy wonderer.
Sissy
Age 50s - 60's
Sassy peace keeper of the family. She has quit smoking and is not doing well.
LaVonda
Age 35 - 50
The 'fun aunt' of the group. Smokes and drinks too much. Loves attention from men, but has a HUGE heart and would do anything for her family and loved ones. The 'liberal' one of the family.
Latrelle
Age 40 -50
Ty's conservative mother. Does not want to deal with issues in front of her. Thinks she is always right.
Noleta
Age 30 - 40
Sissy's neighbor. A basket case. Wife to GW.
GW
Age 40 - 50
Somewhat a jerk. Has an affair with Peggy.
Wardell
Age 30 - 50
Bar's bartender. Brother to Odell. Feels guilty for how he treated Brother Boy when they were younger.
Juanita
Age 40 - 60
Bar fly. Funny drunk of the bar. Always a couple beats behind. Always has a cigarette and beer close by.

Fascinated with string art. Brother to Wardell. Not the brightest tool in the shed.

Age 30 - 50
Psychiatrist treating Brother Boy. Brassy. Harsh. Wants her big break.

Thinks he is Tammy Wynette. Sassy and funny.
