Synopsis
Set in a 1930s European perfumery, we meet shop clerks, Amalia and Georg, who, more often than not, don't see eye to eye. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and all the twists and turns along the way! This adorable piece of musical theatre was the inspiration for the classic rom-com movie “You’ve Got Mail” starring Meg Ryan! |
SHOW CONTENT IS GENERALLY SUITABLE FOR TEENAGERS AND ADULTS.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Friend,
When I first encountered She Loves Me, I was struck by how timeless and tender its story is. At its heart, it’s about human connection—the ways we hide behind letters or masks, and the joy of being truly seen for who we are.
As a queer, non-binary actor and director, I’ve always felt a particular resonance with the female-presenting characters in stories like this one. Though I may never step into their shoes onstage, directing gives me a different kind of joy: the chance to live and learn through them. I sometimes think of the director as a puppeteer, gently tugging the strings—infusing a bit of myself into each character, each costume, each moment of staging. In doing so, I get to “play” all the roles at once, filtering their experiences through my own lens and celebrating what makes them shine.
My hope is that, as you watch this story unfold tonight, you find your own reflection in these characters too. Perhaps you’ll laugh at their awkward missteps, root for their longing hearts, and feel that quiet spark of recognition when love finally finds its way. That spark—the reminder that connection is possible, even in the most unexpected places—is why I love this show so deeply.
Thank you for joining us in the theater. I hope She Loves Me fills your evening with as much warmth, joy, and connection as it has given me in bringing it to life.
Your Friend,
Drew Bryson
