Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for OVER MY DEAD BODY, a new one-act play by Jean Blasiar. Auditions are Sunday and Monday, July 24 and 25, 2022, at 7 p.m. at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue. Director Nickie Cornett is looking to fill roles for 3 women, 5 men, and 2 ensemble. All roles in OVER MY DEAD BODY are available.
A ghost and her husband are prepared to haunt the house below before they’ll let their family sell the house that has been theirs for three generations. Miranda and Ben have been quite happy living in their haunted family home their entire lives. And now that they have passed on and joined the realm of family ghosts as well, they are looking forward to an afterlife spent with their children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, their children (more specifically their daughter in law) have other plans. Plans that involve selling the more than slightly haunted house and moving to Florida. OVER MY DEAD BODY is scheduled for six performances for the weekends of September 30, 2022 – October 9, 2022.
Please bring a list of all conflicts from Late July 2022 through October 9, 2022.
Rehearsals are tentatively set to begin August 15, 2022.

Miranda is strong-willed and outspoken. She enjoys a good prank, especially if it means she can torment her despised daughter-in-law.
BEN

Miranda's Husband; Frank's Father
Ben is a kind and compassionate person. He will do anything for Miranda who is the love of his life.
STELLA
Female, Stage Age: 40's
Frank's Wife; Jesicca and Dylan's Mother
Stella is vain and always wanting more. While she loves Frank, she isn't happy with what he is able to provide her with.
FRANK
Male, Stage Age: 40's
Stella's Husband; Jessica and Dylan's Father
Frank is a frugal and reserved family man. He always dreamt of maintaining the family home and is torn between upholding a promise to his deceased parent's or making his wife and daughter happy.
JESSICA
Female, Stage Age: 20's
Stella and Frank's Daughter
Jessica idolizes her mother and like her mother she always wants more than what she has.
DYLAN
Male, Stage Age: 20's
Stella and Frank's Son
Dylan is passionate and outspoken, similar to his grandmother and has his father's values. He believes in the supernatural and is often ridiculed for his beliefs.
MR. HORACE
Male, Stage Age: 40's
Exorcist
A religious man who prides himself in his ability to exorcise any ghost but may have just met his match with the Gould family.
FRANCIS
Male, Stage Age: 50's
Priest/Angel
When living Francis served the church and once deceased, he became an angel helping guide spirits. Miranda has befriended him and enlists his help to stop Mr. Horace from exorcising her and Ben.
