Buck Creek Playhouse and Director Jeremy Tuterow are thrilled to announce auditions for MISERY to take place on December 9th and 10th, 2024 at 7:00 pm at the Buck Creek Playhouse located at 11150 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46259.

​The directors are looking for a diverse cast to play 1 female role. 1 male role, and 1 role of any gender. All roles are available. Performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition.

​True to life becomes stranger than fiction when an acclaimed romance novelist wakes up in the home of his "number one fan". Rescued from a wintery car crash, Paul Sheldon finds himself incapacitated in the secluded home of Annie Wilkes, a seemingly kind nurse. When events take a nightmarish turn, the injured Paul realizes the unhinged Annie has no intention of letting him leave. This spine-tingling stage adaptation traps you in the room with Paul as he must outsmart Annie if he hopes to escape. Based on Stephen King's best-selling novel, the tense cat-and-mouse game will grip you until the very end.

AVAILABLE ROLES

ANNIE WILKES (Female, 35 -50) - A lonely, mentally unstable fan with a dangerously obsessive nature.

PAUL SHELDON (Male, 50 - 65) - A successful novelist held captive by Annie, forced to rewrite his latest book.

SHERIFF BUSTER (Male or Female, 50+) - A small-town sheriff investigating Paul's disappearance.

MISERY is scheduled for six performances over two weekends, March 28 - April 6, 2025.
Please bring a list of all conflicts from February - April, 2025.
Arrive at least 15 minutes early for check-in and to fill out the audition form.
Actors will read from selected sides from the play (available at the audition).
