Buck Creek Players will hold open auditions for our streaming production of MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET: A LIVE MUSICAL RADIO PLAY, a Christmas musical radio play adapted from the 1947 Lux Radio Broadcast by Lance Arthur Smith with original songs and arrangements by Jon Lorenz, on Sunday and Monday, October 18 and 19, 2020, at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue. Auditions will be conducted in a safe and socially distanced manner, with scheduled audition times between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. Please use the link at the top of this page, to sign-up for an audition time. Director Cathy Cutshall and Vocal Director Jill Stewart are looking for a diverse group of 2 women, 4 men, and 1 female child. All roles are available.
When a department store Santa claims he’s the real Kris Krinkle, his case gets taken all the way to the Supreme Court and a little girl’s belief makes the difference in the “miracle”. With live Foley effects and a score of holiday carols, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is a beloved musical that will melt even the most cynical of hearts.
AUDITION PREPARATION
- Please bring resume and head shot, if available.
- Please come prepared to sing 32 bars of a song of your choice showing your vocal range. Please bring sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
- You may be asked to read from the script or sing from the score.
- Please bring a list of all conflicts from October 25, 2020 through December 12, 2020.
- Rehearsals are tentatively set to begin on Sunday, October 25, 2020
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE INFORMATION
- Safe and socially distanced rehearsals will be conducted via Zoom.
- The show will be performed and recorded via Zoom in early December. Performances of the recorded show will be streamed via ShowShare by Broadway on Demand for two performances, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 8:00 PM, and Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 2:30 PM.
- Cast members will need access to a reliable internet connection and space to conduct rehearsals and the recording of the show.
