ELLE WOODS [Female, Stage Age Mid-20’s, Mezzo-Soprano Belt to C#5]
Confident & bubbly, Elle is the quintessential blonde Valley Girl, who follows her boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes she has much more to offer than a pretty face. She lifts up those around her, due to her intense drive and positivity. This actor should be a triple threat, and able to carry the momentum of the show (she is onstage for nearly the entire runtime). Must be comfortable with onstage intimacy such as kissing.
EMMETT FORREST [Male, Stage Age Mid to late 20’s, Tenor]
A smart, sensitive, and sometimes sarcastic law student who mentors Elle. He should be charming, a bit nerdy, lovable, and friendly. He’s worked his entire life to get into Harvard Law, and nothing will come between him and becoming a partner in Callahan's law firm, except maybe his surprising love for Elle. Must be comfortable with onstage intimacy such as kissing.
PAULETTE BUONAFONTE [Female, Stage age 30-mid 40’s, Mezzo-Soprano Belt]
Paulette is the funny owner of Hair Affair, a local salon. She becomes friends with Elle and longs to marry a man from Ireland. She and Elle help each other achieve their dreams!. A Bostonian accent is a plus. This actor should be a strong singer with a powerful belt to match her comedic timing!
PROFESSOR CALLAHAN [Male, Stage age 40’s-50’s, Baritone]
A pompous, smooth, authoritative, and manipulative law professor. He has a reputation for being an extremely strict and tough professor and a highly successful lawyer. He will do anything to get what he wants, regardless of morality. Actor should be comfortable with a stage kiss.
WARNER HUNTINGTON III [Male, Stage age mid-20’s, Tenor]
Good-looking and charming, yet shallow and self-absorbed. Warner breaks up with Elle to go to Harvard Law. He only sees Elle as a bubbly dumb blonde, and doesn’t think she is serious enough to settle down with. He cares deeply about his reputation. Actor must be comfortable with a stage kiss.
VIVIENNE KENSINGTON [Female, Stage age mid-20’s to early 30’s, Mezzo-Soprano Belt to G#5]
A smart, serious, and uptight law student, seemingly the polar opposite of Elle. She comes from a very conservative East Coast background and is everything that Warner needs to make a serious move to become a lawyer. When she becomes Warner’s fiancée, she initially dismisses Elle, but grows to become her friend. Must be comfortable being kissed on stage.
This role will also be in the opening of “Omigod You Guys” and “What You Want” as a DELTA NU.
BROOKE WYNDHAM [Female, Stage age mid-20’s to 30’s, Mezzo-Soprano to G#5]
An exercise video tycoon who is an alum of Elle’s sorority. She is energetic and charismatic, yet currently on trial for her husband’s murder. Dance skills and being physically able to jump rope while singing is a must.
This role will also double as a DELTA NU in “Omigod You Guys”, “What You Want”, and “Positive”
ENID HOOPS [Female, Stage age mid-20’s, Soprano/Mezzo Belter]
Enid is a strong, passionate, and outwardly feminist law student at Harvard, who is skeptical of Elle, and eventually becomes her friend. Must have great comedic timing and be able to patter sing clearly.
This role will also be in the opening of “Omigod You Guys” as a DELTA NU.
SERENA, MARGOT, AND PILAR [Females, Soprano/Mezzo/Alto, Stage age mid-20’s]
These three ladies are Elle’s trio of best friends and sorority sisters, who help her navigate the story by acting as a “Greek Chorus”. Serena is the energetic cheerleader. Margot is the seemingly dim-witted, boy-crazy sorority sister. Pilar is the sassy and sensible one. They should be high energy performers to make a complementary, dynamic group.
FEMALE TRACK #1: KATE/ CHUTNEY/ CAT LADY [Female, Stage age mid 20’s, Mezzo-Soprano Belter]
As Kate she is the brainiest and quirkiest sorority sister in Delta Nu, who helps Elle study to get into Harvard Law. She has a featured vocal solo in “What You Want”. As Chutney, she is Brooke’s bitter stepdaughter. Featured in the courtroom scene as a witness. Must be able to have a comedic nervous breakdown onstage. As the cat lady, she is a customer at the Hair Affair and is trying to learn to Bend and Snap. This track should be a strong dancer.
MALE TRACK #1: GRANDMASTER CHAD/ KYLE B. O’BOYLE [Male, Stage age 20-30, Any Voice Type]
An attractive, smooth-talking UPS delivery man. He is Paulette’s dream guy. Dance skills are a plus. Must be comfortable being seen as “sexy.” Chad is a UCLA frat boy, has a featured solo in “What You Want”. This track should be a strong dancer.
FEMALE TRACK #2: STORE MANAGER/ JUDGE/ CASHIER [Female, Stage age late 20’s to 40’s, Mezzo-Soprano belt]
When playing the Store Manager she is a friend of Elle’s who offers her the latest fashion. Has a featured solo in “Omigod You Guys”. As the Judge, she is featured in the courtroom scene, with a short vocal solo in “Scene of the Crime/Omigod Reprise”. Cashier works at Paulette’s salon is featured in “Bend and Snap.” This track should be a strong singer and mover.
MALE TRACK #2: WINTHROP/ ELLE’S DAD/ NIKOS. [Male, Stage age late 20’s to 30’s. Baritone]
This track includes playing Elle’s rich socialite father who loves golf and giving his little girl anything she wants. Winthrop is on the Harvard admissions team and is not sure about admitting Elle. Nikos is the boyfriend of Carlos and is featured in “Gay or European.”
FEMALE TRACK #3: WHITNEY/ PERFUME LADY/ JOYCE RILEY/ CASHIER [Female, Stage age 25-40, any vocal part]
Whitney is Vivienne’s best friend who loves to look down on Elle with Vivienne. Joyce is the attorney involved in Brooke Wyndams case. Cashier is featured in "Bend and Snap.” Perfume lady is in “Take it Like a Man” with small solo lines. This is a strong actor track.
MALE TRACK #3: FRAT BOY/ DEWY/ CARLOS [Male, Stage age 20-30, Bari-tenor]
Carlos is Brooke’s effeminate pool boy who is secretly dating Nikos. As Dewy, he is Paulette’s nasty, rude, dog-stealing trailer trash ex-boyfriend. This is a strong actor and dancer track.
FEMALE TRACK #4: ELLE’S MOM/ COURT STENOGRAPHER/ HARVARD STUDENT [Female, Stage age 30-40, any vocal range]
Elle’s Mom is a rich socialite who loves to be on social media. She maybe drinks a little too much. The court stenographer is an anxiety ridden note taker.
MALE TRACK #4: PFORZHEIMER/ TV REPORTER/ HARVARD STUDENT/ FRAT BOY [Male, Stage age 20-35, any vocal part]
This track should be a strong dancer and singer. This male track will be used throughout the show in various capacities.

Lowell is on the Harvard admissions team. The sales woman tries to sell Elle an out of season dress. Perfume girl is featured in “Take It Like a Man.”

Aaron Schultz is a cocky, technology obsessed Harvard Student. Carlos is the secret boyfriend of Nikos. He has a small singing section in “Gay or European.” Kiki is the colorist at Paulette’s salon. He is featured in “Bend and Snap.”
