ABOUT THE SHOW
|
Buck Creek Players and Director Jim LaMonte are excited to announce their upcoming production of the GOOD PEOPLE, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire's tough and tender play about the insurmountable divide between those who make it and those who don't, and the moral dilemmas both sides face.
Welcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo; where this month's paycheck covers last month’s bills; and where Margie Walsh was just let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling who made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh start. But, is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. Buck Creek Players is pleased to continue our 48th season with this live comedy production on our mainstage. Join us for the six live in-person performances at the playhouse starting Saturday, February 5th and running through Sunday, February 13th. The Friday, February 4th show has been cancelled due to inclement weather. |
Presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc. (www.dramatists.com)
GOOD PEOPLE was originally commissioned by the Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer)
with funds provided by Bank of America and received its world premiere there on February 9, 2011.
