Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for GOOD PEOPLE, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire's tough and tender play about the insurmountable divide between those who make it and those who don't, and the moral dilemmas both sides face.
Auditions are Monday and Tuesday, November 8 and 9, 2021, at 7 p.m. at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue.
Director Jim LaMonte is looking to fill roles for 4 women and 2 men.
All roles in GOOD PEOPLE are available.
AUDITION PREPARATION

You will read selected scenes from the script.
GOOD PEOPLE is scheduled for six performances for the weekends of February 4, 2022 – February 13, 2022.
Please bring a list of all conflicts from Late December 2021 through February 13, 2022.
Rehearsals are tentatively set to begin December 27, 2021.

A tough-cookie-with-a-heart-of-gold, down on her luck single mother from South Boston.
MIKE
Male, 45 to 50, white
A successful fertility doctor who escaped Margaret's South Boston neighborhood and is not eager to be reminded of his past.
JEAN
Female, 45 to 50, white
Margaret's tough as nails friend, the 'mouthy from Southie'.
DOTTIE
Female, 60 to 75, white
Margie's landlady who also takes care of Margie's child who has a disability. Dottie is patient with Margie and her constant financial woes but only to a point.
STEVIE
Male, late 20s, white
The manager of a dollar store and Margaret's boss, the son of an old friend of Margaret's.
KATE
Female, 30s, African American
Mike's English professor wife, kind, beautiful, and well-educated.
