Buck Creek Playhouse will hold open auditions for A DICKENS' CHRISTMAS CAROL, OR A TRAVELING TRAVESTY IN TWO TUMULTUOUS ACTS by Mark Landon Smith on Monday and Tuesday, October 6 and 7, 2014 at 7 p.m. at the playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Avenue. Click here for directions.
Director Ken Kern is looking for a diverse group of 4 females and 3 males of varying ages for this hilarious tribute to the Charles Dickens classic and to theatre itself. Auditioners should come prepared to read from the script. All roles are available. A DICKENS' CHRISTMAS CAROL is scheduled for nine performances, weekends December 5-21, 2014. Please bring a list of all conflicts from October through December 2014.
Please contact us to peruse a copy of the script.
This holiday season, prepare yourself for a completely different adaptation of the classic, A CHRISTMAS CAROL. From the bonny shores of England comes a stuffy old traveling troupe embarking on their fifteenth annual farewell tour of the Dickens' tale. The company diva pretends to be ill, certain the production will be cancelled. However, much to her shock and rage, the show does go on without her! Roles are shuffled at the last minute and the understudy finds herself center stage. Mayhem ensues as this professional company scrambles to keep the show going and everything that could possibly go wrong does…to hilarious, ridiculous results!
